Introduction to Teaching for Biliteracy: Pre-K-5

 Introduction to Teaching for Biliteracy is an introductory workshop designed for teachers and administrators new to teaching for biliteracy and the Bridge.

Partipants will:

  • Review the latest research in biliteracy development
  • Compare and contrast sequential and simultaneous bilinguals
  • Participate in sample biliteracy instruction including the Bridge between languages
  • Network with other biliteracy educators from across the United States


  • Teachers and administrators new to biliteracy instruction


  • This session’s content is applicable to:  One-Way, Two-Way, Foreign Language Immersion Programs, Transitional Bilingual Education and Maintenance Bilingual Programs

Grade levels: Pre-K-5

Language(s):  This session will be conducted primarily in English, with some examples in Spanish
