Emily Cecile  Zoeller is an instructional coach at Nuestro Mundo Community School,  a dual language immersion elementary school in Madison Metropolitan School District in Wisconsin. After graduating from Notre Dame, she served as an Americorps volunteer in San Diego, where she realized bilingual education as the most powerful vehicle to social justice for her students and families. Emily holds a Master’s Degree in Bilingual/Cross-cultural Education from the University of San Diego and has worked as a bilingual teacher across a range of educational settings. For the past four years, she has been training and coaching reading specialists in Madison and surrounding districts as a Reading Recovery/Descubriendo la Lectura Teacher Leader. Emily is also an adjunct instructor at Edgewood College, and a mother of three dual language learners - two experiences that bring perspective to her work! 
Emily ha vivido en España y en Ecuador.  Empezó a estudiar el español en la escuela secundaria., y dentro de este contexto, comenzó a apreciar las experiencias de sus compañeros que tenían diferentes perfiles bilingües.  En su trabajo con maestros y alumnos, Emily implementa una perspectiva basada en las fortalezas de lenguaje, aprendizaje, y conocimiento cultural.
